DPS R.N. Extension organized the first chapter of IGNITEMUN, a simulation of the United Nations conference, on 26th December, 2019. The Principal Ms. Pallavi Upadhyaya welcomed the delegates and wished them success in the conference. The Secretary General Aman Choudhary declared the conference open. The conference saw a participation of students from more than 20 schools of the Delhi NCR. There were 6 main committees such as United Nations General Assembly, United Nations Security Council, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Rights of the Child, United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction and All India Political Parties' Meet. The committee UNDRR was specially included as part of the ISA activity. The students deliberated, argued and found solutions for global problems such as terrorism, refugee crisis, US-Iran conflict, Child labour, natural and man made disasters and the Abrogation of article 370. The students had researched all these issues well and were able to speak with maturity. The agenda on child labour and children used in armed conflict was specially designed for students of classes 4 to 6 . The Delegation from DPS Indirapuram took away the Best Delegation award. The day culminated with the Director General Vedant Singh rapping the podium with his gavel to formally close the conference.
