A cultural programme was organized to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day of our beloved country. The Principal, Mrs Pallavi Upadhyaya led the school in a special prayer invoking God’s blessings on our country and its citizens and to keep everyone safe from all natural and man-made disasters. The students of class 10 were the main organizers and showed their talent in scripting and presenting a programme of this size with minimal help from their teachers. There was a song, a dance, a skit, and a mime act celebrating freedom. Mr Abishek Bansal, member, DPS Society graced this auspicious occasion with his presence and congratulated the students for the beautiful presentation and told them that the true sense of patriotism is not in remembering our motherland on national days but to serve our country everyday by keeping our surroundings clean. Mrs Pallavi Upadhyaya, Principal of the school also spoke on the same lines and added how we must save water and fuel and keep them for future generations’ use. The school took this occasion to recognize and appreciate the students who had attained distinction in the Rock School, London debut grade exams in Western Music. They were given certificates of distinction. The day ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
