May Day or the International Labour Day is celebrated on May 1, every year through out the world. Originally May Day was celebrated as the onset of spring in many countries but now it is mostly celebrated to honour the workers and labourers who make the life of people easy and comfortable by their service. The workers are the backbone of any country and without them the administration of the country or even an organization would just crumble and become dysfunctional. DPS R.N. Extension organized a May Day Assembly on Wednesday, 01 May 2019 to felicitate and thank the para workforce of the school for all the help and services they render for the smooth functioning of the school. This was also a part of British Council’s ISA activity –“Hind-e-Deutsche. The students highlighted the significance of the day and made a comparison study of the May Day celebrations in India and Germany. The Principal Mrs Pallavi Upadhyaya asked the students not to take their services for granted but to remember to thank them for all their help. The school choir presented a song to express their gratitude and the women employees of the para workforce entertained the audience with songs in their amazingly melodious voices. The men too showed their sportive attitude by shaking a leg to the music. After the assembly, the senior students of the school respectfully served them refreshments.
