Hand Washing Activity

It’s not as elementary as it appears – hand washing is a careful process that must be done right’
Hygiene awareness is an important need in schools these days as the children are exposed to all kinds of germs and bacteria that they wouldn’t usually come into contact with at home. Children are naturally curious and exploring things by touch, that can cause their hands to become a breeding ground for germs and bacteria, which could make them and others seriously ill. Hands are often the main vehicle for transmitting germs by contact with others and through surfaces such as door handles and toilet flushes. The simplest way to avoid illnesses , is that age-old mantra of effective hand washing. Keeping the same thought in mind, DPS RN Extension organized a session on effective hand wash and hygiene for the kids of grades Nursery to II. In this session, the kids were told about the importance of cleanliness and personal hygiene. A short briefing about the need to maintain proper hygiene followed by a demonstration of the technique of proper hand wash was done by the teachers which clearly indicated that proper hand hygiene can significantly reduce the risks of infections and help in promoting a healthy life.
