In order to educate and train the students for an unforeseen emergency like Earthquake Delhi Public School R N Extension conducted a mock exercise and evacuation drill on 20-02-2020. Mr. Rupesh Srivastava was invited to explain
students about the series of coordinated actions should be practiced, for the purpose of safe evacuation at the time of earthquake type situation. It was based on the lines of the Drop, Cover and Hold concept. In order to make it more clear a mock drill was also arranged in the school. Immediately after the sounding of the siren, the students were asked to leave their classes and evacuate the school. Guided by the teachers, the students collected in the assembling ground– the allotted safe zone. Following all the safety measures, the entire building was successfully evacuated. The drill was organized to check the readiness of the school to face any such emergency during any natural calamity and also to make the students and staff aware about earthquake, fighting rescue operation and its procedure. The students, teachers and all the staff members actively participated and helped in evacuation
during mock drill. Students rescue teams were formed and given proper guidance to help fellow members during preparedness drill. These mock drills help in meeting the challenges in adverse situations and in coping with the situation during the time of such natural disaster.
