Why is there always a need of approval from the other person or a compliment or a support? Has this pandemic made you feel alone, helpless, annoyed and gave you a feeling of despair? Did you question what is that I am lacking or why the joy is missing?
We often associate happiness with some parameters, most likely people, success, fame and material things. But is this the everlasting happiness? And if it is then why does it vanish after a particular period of time?
According to Dalai Lama “The purpose of our lives is to be happy.”
But what is happiness?
Happiness is a very subjective term,I believe but in the simplest way it means a feeling of joy, content and one of the highest states of life. The time where you just live the moment, are in a state of bliss and have no link with your past or the future.
In the current times when everything is dynamic, challenging and uncertain, people are finding it difficult to be happy. So what is the key? The only thing that can be in our control is our mental state which determines your state of life. Your life is what you make out of it.
You need to understand that this is the only moment that I have and how I can consciously make the best use of it. The regret of the past and the fear of future often disrupts the state of bliss. You have to believe that you are a complete being, you are loved, you are safe and you are constantly supported. Only when you take care of your thoughts, you can take care of yourself. Your mental strength is equally important as your physical being.
Utilise this time to self love and understand yourself better, spend this time with your loved ones, spend time on your hobbies and learn new things. Do everything that makes you happy and you will soon see that you have made the best use of the most difficult time. At last don’t forget- “This too shall pass”.
