ASSESSMENT/EXAM AND EVALUATION POLICY FOR CLASSES NURSERY TO XII ACADEMIC SESSION 2026-27

Classes Nursery-UKG:

The Academic Year shall be divided into two terms (Term-I: April to September /Term-II: October to March). The students are assessed continuously and comprehensively throughout the year on the basis of day-to-day activities/worksheets and assignments. There shall be no formal examination for Classes: Nursery to UKG.

Classes I - II:

The Academic Year shall be divided into two terms (Term-I: April to September /Term-II: October to March). The students are assessed continuously and comprehensively throughout the year on the basis of day-to-day activities/worksheets/assignments and assessments.

One cycle of Periodic Test and Term End Examination will be conducted in each term as in the following parameters:

To prepare the students to cover the whole syllabus of Academic Year ,the syllabus for the Annual Examination for Classes: VI-VIII as designed by CBSE ,with regular increase in learning assessment, as the students move forward.

  • Class-VI: Term 2 Syllabus + 10% from Term-I
  • Class-VII: Term 2 Syllabus + 20% from Term-I 
  • Class-VIII: Term 2 Syllabus + 30% from Term-I 

Scholastic Subjects assessed: English, Hindi, III Language (optional subject-French, German and Sanskrit-Class IV onwards), Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Computer Science.

CLASSES IX TO X:

The students will be assessed continuously and comprehensively throughout the year on the basis of PERIODIC TESTS (PT-1, PT-2 and PT-3) HALF YEARLY EXAMINATIONS/ANNUAL EXAMINATION/BOARD EXAM as per CBSE GUIDELINES.

Three cycles of Periodic Tests/Half Yearly/Annual Examination will be conducted in the complete term as per the following parameters:

CLASS-X (SCHOLASTIC AREA)
  • The academic structure for class-X for the academic year 2024-25 will be according to the Remodeled Assessment Structure as per CBSE Circular No.: Acad-11/2019 (F.1001/CBSE/Dir(Acad)/2019) Dated: 06/03/2019.
  • 3 Periodic Tests will be conducted in the Academic Year for every subject.
  • Average of the best 2 Periodic Test will be taken (reduced to 05 marks) for the Final Marks submission.
  • Syllabus for the Periodic Test will increase cumulatively.
  • Board Exams will cover 100% syllabus of each subject.
  • Students have to secure 33% marks in Internal Assessment and Board Examinations, together.
  • Different activities will be conducted in the entire year for Subject Enrichment Activity.

For awarding the grades, the Board shall put all the passed students in a rank order and will award grades as follows:

CLASSES XI :
Promotion Policy

PROMOTION POLICY:

  • In order to be eligible to qualify Class-IX/XI examination, a student shall have to obtain minimum 33% in five main subjects (as per scheme of study) for being promoted to Class-X/XII. In case of subject(s) involving practical work in Class-XI, a student must obtain 33% in theory and practical separately, in addition to 33% in aggregate.
  • A student failing in one of the five main subjects shall be placed in COMPARTMENT in that subject and ONLY ONE ATTEMPT of
  • RE-TEST shall be provided in the Annual Examination.
  • The students of Class-IX who have opted Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence as Optional/Additional Subject, the modalities as per CBSE guidelines shall be applicable as per circular.
  • Optional/Additional Subject shall not be taken into consideration for promotion from Class-IX to Class-X.
  • Student failing in two or more subjects shall be detained in Class-IX/XI.
Attendance

Please ensure that your ward attends the school regularly. Also, be informed that student will be allowed to appear for the Half Yearly/Annual Examination only when he/she attains 75% ATTENDANCE in each term.

  • Students scoring 33% (both in Theory and Practical) and above in all subjects and in the aggregate will qualify for the promotion to the next class.

  • 75% Attendance is mandatory to appear for the Examination as per the CBSE guidelines.
  • For awarding the grades, the Board shall put all the passed students in a rank order and will award grades as follows:
