Orientation Day 2017-18
An Orientation Programme for the parents of the new admissions of nursery to IX was
organised in the school auditorium on 1st April 2017. The programme commenced with the
auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the rendition of soul stirring Ganesh
Vandana invoking the blessing of Lord Ganesha.
The School Director, Mrs. Meeta Rai then welcomed the luminaries and parents. She said that a
cherished dream has been realized in the form of DPS R.N. Extension. She assured the parents
that the school will carry forward the legacy of its parent school, DPS Indirapuram and would
carve a niche for itself. Post her address Ma’am Meeta Rai invited the School Pro-Vice
Chairperson, Mrs. Santosh Bansal to address the parents. She welcomed all the new parents to
the DPS family and congratulated them for the same. She said that DPS Indirapuram was a
stellar example of hard work and toil exemplified by the Principal, Mrs. Meeta Rai. Later, the
parents were shown a power point presentation thereby taking them on a virtual tour of the
The Cultural Extravaganza unfolded with a mesmerising contemporary dance performance
aptly titled ‘Pristine Pirouettes’. The students enthralled everyone with their synchronized
twirls.... whirls and crisp clean movements. This was followed by a heart warming Bengali
patriotic song: Dhono Dhanno Pushpo Bhora. It is always a welcoming sight to see the tiny tots
perform and next was an energectic performance by the students of classes I and II. They
grooved and swayed to the foot tapping music and charmed everyone with their dance drill.
Soon after the Foreign Language students showcased their skills. The students looked
resplendent as they portrayed some famous German and French icons and also delivered
impressive speeches in German and French. The French students also enchanted the audience
with a French Song titled Alleuette. Later a heart touching poem ‘Koshish Karne Waalo Ki
Kabhi Haar Nahi Hoti’ composed by the famous poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan was recited in a
very remarkable manner by Swayam of class VII A. The highlight of the programme was a well
conceptualized fusion dance. The Kathakali was a fusion with a message on women
empowerment. It was a perfect blend of tradition and modernity based on the popular song,

After the cultural fiesta, the School Vice Principal addressed the parents and oriented them with
the School ethos and philosophy. She acquainted the new parents with the school routine and
curriculum. She thanked the new parents for reposing faith in the school and introduced the
faculty members to them.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
