Visit to Asha Vidhyala
The morning assembly held on 11th Nov.2016 in DPS R.N.Extn. was based on compassion and altruism. The topics were very well applied and taught to the students when the students of std. I of DPS R.N.Extn. visited one of the schools for differently abled students viz ‘ASHA VIDHYALAYA’ situated in Ghaziabad to celebrate ‘Children’s Day’ which is on 14th Nov. The students also celebrated National Education Day. The students of std.I visited ASHA VIDYALAYA a school for the physically challenged (PC) and Hearing Impaired (HI). The students spent about 3 hours in the school with those children with different/special activities designed for the students, so that they could have some fun & frolic. The first activity was ‘Musical Chairs’. The students of DPS R.N.Extn. and Asha Vidyalaya collectively played Musical Chair and thoroughly enjoyed it. The winners were given prizes. The second activity was the ‘Puppet Show’. The teachers and students of DPS R.N.Extn. presented a puppet show based on the jungle theme, ‘Sharing is Caring’. After puppetry, all the students of Asha Vidyalaya were given ‘finger puppets’. This added a sparkle to their eyes. They were so fascinated with these animal finger puppets that their happiness was clearly evident in their smiles. Team DPS R.N.Extn. also distributed gifts (clothes, food, toys) to Asha Vidyalaya. Celebrating Children’s Day with these special children was an eye opener for all of us. They taught us a lesson that ‘no matter what, keep smiling’. Always be content and pay gratitude for everything that we have been bestowed with. Compassion and altruism are the virtues which makes us all the true human beings.
